The day of Pentecost (Acts 2)

3 main points of observation on the day of Pentecost:

1. The message - was the gospel of the kingdom

2. The messengers - the 12 apostles to Israel

3. The audience – Israel only

But for us today the Body of Christ:

1. The message - is the gospel of the grace of God  Acts 20:24

2. The messenger – Paul the apostle to the Gentiles.  Rom 11:13,  Eph 3:8

3. The audience - Jews and Gentiles (no difference) - that make up the one body of Christ.  Gal 3:28

Do you see the stark differences here? Mixing these differences will lead to confusion, incorrect interpretation and wrong doctrine to live by.

This is why we need to rightly divide God's word. Truth from truth.  Words to Israel from the words to the body of Christ. i.e. Jesus divided Himself from the Gentiles.

Matt 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Peace and Grace.
